Thankful Thursday
So, it's Thanksgiving. YAY!!! I have been so incredibly blessed in my life. Really, my Heavenly Father really spoils me. I have an awesome family, stellar friends, an incredible job, and a wonderful life. Here are ten things that I am so blessed to have in my life and I hope I never take for granted.
#1: My daddy: He's completely cool. He's just embarrassing enough to keep me on my toes, but not so embarrassing that I'm tempted to duct tape him up and lock him in a closet. My dad is the most honest, hardworking, selfless man I know. He loves my mom and me and my siblings so much, and he's so full of integrity. He is so service-oriented and he takes such good care of our ward. He's also really really great with kids. I can't wait to see him with my kids!
#2: My mother: My mom is so diligent and focused. She is my hero. When I see how hard she works to keep the Lord's commandments and to excel in school, it makes me want to be a better person. She is also hilarious, and she always makes me giggle. She is such a gentle, sensitive soul and I love her for that. She loves our family so much. She's the best mom in the entire world and I love her so much.
#3: William Clarke: My older brother is the bomb.com. For Real. I don't know him super well, but when I do get to spend time with him, I can't help but smile the whole time. He reminds me so much of our mom, it's crazy. He is really funny and so unselfish and very patient and kind. I love Clarke so much and I hope he knows that.
#4: Katherine Anne: My older sister is so indescribable. She's quirky and fun and totally unique. She doesn't care what others think about her and she's so content to be her own person. She's one of the bravest girls I know. She's also incredibly generous. I spent all of yesterday down in Provo with her, and she was so great! She treated me to a movie and hot chocolate. I love her so much. She's independent and hilarious and enigmatic, and I love her more than words can express.
#5: Amy Beth (aka Anne): I love Amy so much. I've gotten so close to her over the past couple of years. She is one of my personal heroes. She has such a strong testimony and is so confident. She is very talented in so many ways and she is so great at making others feel included and being kind to those around her. I love her!!!
#6: Garrett Russell: My brother-in-law-to-be is so incredible! I loved him the moment I met him and I cannot wait until Feb. 18th when he'll join my family forever! He brings out the best in Amy and she does likewise. They're great together. He is so hilarious; he always keeps me laughing. I can't believe how dedicated and awesome he is. He the definition of a man of character. He is so loving and kind and patient and great. He reminds me so much of my dad, and I hope I can find someone just like him! Amy, you have good taste! I love him!
#7: Melissa Christine: Where do I even begin? I have no idea. This girl is my best friend in the whole world. I know I drive her crazy half the time, and the other half she's driving me crazy, but somehow we still love her. She's so hardworking, kind, loving, courageous, virtuous and beautiful. She's always looked out for me and I hope she knows how much I appreciate it. I know that no matter what, I can always talk to her. She's so talented and astounding. I love her so much!!
#8: Thomas Guy: This kid is such a bugger, but I still love his guts. He's weird and funny and confusing. He always makes me laugh. He's so different than anyone else I know, and it's so great. I hope he never changes. I don't tell him enough, but I'm so proud of him. I love him so much. He honors his priesthood, he serves others, he shows respect to women. He's amazing. I love you T-Man!
#9: Marco: My baby :) This boy is my favorite ever. He always cuddles with me and plays with me. He can tell when I'm sad and is always there to cheer me up. When I was younger and I freaked him out, he still played with me and gave me love. I can tell him anything and he always lets me know how much he loves me and what I mean to him. He's the best brother/best friend/dog I could ask for. I am so blessed to have him in my life. I love you, Marco!!
#10: My Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ: He has given me so much and continues to bless me even when I don't deserve it. He loves me more than I can even comprehend. He is always there; He always listens. He answers my prayers; He provides with me with opportunities to serve and be served. HE understands me so well and he loves me so much. He always lets me know that He's there and that He cares. He loves me so much that He sent His Only Begotten Son to die so that I could live. My Redeemer is so full of love and understanding. He is always there when I make a mistake and He loves me anyway. He is so patient with me when I mess up and He helps me to make things right. He is the light in my life. I love my Heavenly Father and My Savior so much.
I have been so blessed. My family is amazing and I am so grateful that I can be with them forever. I love them more than I can say! Happy Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for who you are and what you do for me!

Marky Mark
Have you heard of Marky Mark? Well, technically it's Mark Wahlberg, but I like Marky Mark better. He's pretty much a big deal. Member of New Kids on the Block, Calvin Klein model, leader of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, and actor. Yeah, he's smokin.
I fell in love with him in The Italian Job, and then again in The Lovely Bones. And, well, look at him. Can you blame me?
I imagine that if I were ever to encounter an angel, he would look an awful lot like Marky Mark.

Things that get under my skin. . .
-not enough sleep
-dried out grody skin
-ap calc homework
-being bad at things
-blanking at an inconvenient moment.
-not being in control
-being told to do something
-but mostly not enough sleep
and yeah. . . I'm not in the best mood. . . .

This is me.
Last night, my sister Amy came to my play. Afterwards, she met Jake. She then proceeded to tell me that she had viewed our dance pictures and told us that we were the nerdiest kids she'd ever seen. Like, way nerdy. The nerdiest nerds she'd ever seen. She definitely stressed the nerdiness.
She mixed up me and Melissa.
Melissa and Dan went as nerds. Me and Jake went as 50s teens.
Needless to say, it was awkward all around.
This got me thinking. . . what is a nerd?
WELL. Let me tell you.
NERD: a stupid, irritating, ineffectual, or unattractive person.
Gee, thanks Amy.
You can imagine my righteous indignation upon being told (repeatedly might I add) that me and my date were the nerdiest nerds to ever nerd. But then I came across this picture.
Um, yes. I am a nerd. But somehow Jake puts up with me anyway :)
BTW: a synonym for nerd is DOOBNER, yet this is a term of endearment. So, let's try to dispel this awkward view of nerds the world seems to have, one Doobner at a time.

Dear Sophomores. . .
If you happen to find a random love note taped onto your dressing room mirror and it is filled with wording such as "our love is a love that is more than love" and "your sparkling eyes, your melodious laughter, your tantalizingly soft skin", DO NOT TAKE SAID NOTE SERIOUSLY. Especially if it is signed by a simply platonic friend and in the handwriting of another simply platonic friend known for her delightful sense of humor. DO NOT START FREAKING OUT BECAUSE YOU THINK ONE OF YOUR FRIENDS IS IN LOVE WITH YOU. Seriously. Did you really think that she would tear off a corner of the paper as "evidence of the romantic turmoil" her hidden love has caused her? Really? Didn't think so. Don't worry: she is not in love with you.
Sincerely,
Two Witty Juniors

Tiphany Sue
I have a friend.
Her name is Tiffany.
I call her Tiphy.
So essentially this is how it goes down: Tiph is my best friend and I would do absolutely ANYTHING for her because I know she would definitely do anything for me. Whenever I'm with her, I am always laughing harder than should be humanly possible. She puts up with all my tom foolery (well most of it). She makes me laugh, she's there when I cry, and she tells me when I need to suck it up! What more could you ask for? I recently have just realized how important she is to me. She's basically my other half. Now if she could only warm up to Jake. . . . haha. But for reals. I love her so stinkin' much!
(p.s. I maybe stole this "ShoutOut" idea from Jess Dixon. . .hope you don't mind Jess!)
