Just thought you should know

Today I went to lunch with my friends Grace and Jane. They're hilarious and I can tell that in fifty years, they'll be 19 times funnier. That's just the kind of people they are.

I answered to prom today using the children from my daycare. Pretty proud of my ingenuity.

Yesterday I hung out with my boss outside of work for a full three hours. Weird thing? We didn't run out of things to talk about or have any awkward silences. And I told her all my high school drama. She's the best.

I've stopped wearing makeup. Takes too much time and effort. Not worth it. But I did buy a new mascara today for when I go back to my heathen ways. Switched from Blackest Black to Very Black. So if my eyelashes look a little less black, that's why.

The weather was way nice today. Can't wait for summer!

Today Emily feels....

"EGGS"CITED!
I'm going to prom! With one of my best friends and we'll for sure have an awesome time!

WORRIED
I'm going to prom! With my sister's ex-boyfriend and my dad will for sure say something awkward....

PERPLEXED
I accidentally washed a small bottle of hand sanitizer with my clothing and now my clothes smell slightly like Bath & Body Works Fresh Lemon HandBac. But the bottle never opened....

ANXIOUS
I auditioned for choir (A'Capella and *GULP* Xela) and while it wasn't AWFUL, I didn't nail it either. Now I have to wait for those results, as well as for my ACT score. Drat.

PENSIVE
Have you ever been friends with someone and it feels like you've known them forever even if you've only known them since like October/Novemberish? Not in a creepy "We met in the pre-existence and decided to be best friends on earth!" way, more in a "We automatically fit together and understand each other" way.

THOUGHTFUL
Have you ever been friends with someone for a long time and it feels like you've only known each other for a short time? Because maybe you don't fully understand each other's ways of thinking, or what makes the other person offended/ticked/hurt? Not a necessarily bad thing, just strange.

MEDITATIVE
Have you ever been friends with someone for a LONG period of time (like say, since birth) and now they're going off to college next year and while you want to be, and mostly are, so happy for them for getting into a great college and receiving an incredible scholarship, you can't be fully happy for them because all you can think about is how much you're going to miss them next year?

But mostly....

HAPPY
Because the sun is shining, I have no AP Calc homework, and life is just swell.

Let me tell you a story......

Once upon a time there was a girl named Emily. Emily had a blog with many riveted readers. One month, Emily began a 30 day challenge, not missing a day for 16 days (that's over half, folks). Then, her computer FREAKED OUT causing her to not be able to complete said challenge. It was a rough life. Every time Emily tried to log onto her blogger account and blog about her incredible life and the amazing people in it, her computer informed her that www.blogger.com did not exist (which we all know a big fat lie). Anyway, Emily was traumatized for many days UNTIL the afternoon of Sunday March 20th (20 days after her 30 day challenge was supposed to have finished) she discovered that she could access her blog via her mother's laptop! YAY!! And now you once again must read this blog out of a sense of obligation, most likely because I follow your blog. Sucker.

Anyway! Here's what has happened in the life of Emily D Regis since the day of February 14th, 2011. (Also, you may note that the pictures used on this blog can all be found on Facebook because now I apparently can't blog on my mac, meaning I cannot access my iPhoto pics. Sorry.)

I got a brother-in-law! (A real one, not one like Jane's)

I went on my very first cruise (To Mexico, which I did not like. Apparently I'm a city girl)

I went to the FCCLA Fashion Show, which was HILARIOUS. (Picture courtesy of Tiffany Sue Photography. See more here.)

I went to my very first Stake Dance (which was a lot more fun than I had anticipated. And yes, I am dressed like a nerd. Geek is the new chic.)

AND Tomorrow I audition for choir. SUPER NERVOUS! I'm auditioning for A'Capella of course, and then I really really hope I can make it into Xela :) But we'll see. I'm singing "A Change In Me" from Beauty and the Beast.

And that's basically all that has happened in my life.

***ALSO: If I didn't mention you in my 16 day challenge, I PROMISE that it wasn't because I don't love you. In a few days, I'll probably post the list of names of who I had planned for the remaining two weeks. Promise that you really have impacted my life!***
